The end of the Day

Same day, second post.

Ling really enjoyed her dinner meal. We had noodles and pizza and she ate every last piece and licked the plate. I refilled it several times and she consistently signed and said "more" to let me know. She has learned many signs and words today, and she Loves to use the room key. She knows how to stick it in the slot and turn the handle to open the door. She is so funny. She got ready for bed, brushed her teeth and even let me floss. She got in her bed, hugged me, then gestured and called for Matthew to come and kiss her good night. They had some sweet hugs and kisses and then she fell sound asleep, sucking her fingers!.

Mary Alice slept for most of the day and is feeling pretty groggy right now. I am going to spend some time reading with her. We have two rooms, but are really using the other one as a daytime camp spot, since we all fit fine in the two beds, even though they are smaller than doubles. They are still very comfortable for us and we want to be together.

Tomorrow, we return to the office of civil affairs to finalize the adoption papers.

Also, Matthew is doing well with the food. We have been able to find things that he likes to eat and are safe for him.

I am amazing at this first day. Ling has not shown any sign of anything but pure joy at being with us. I did not expect that, and it's a wonderful surprise.

I'm so glad you have her now!
While it's great that she is so happy right now (makes it much easier, doesn't it), she will go through the grieving, too.
She sounds like a very smart little girl!
Congratulations!
