"No" is a complete sentence!

Now that she had learned to say "No" when she doesn't want something (instead of screaming or squealing), Megan Ling uses it all the time. She says it even when she means yes. I am reminded again of the two year old phase where NO is every other word. Pretty soon I expect her to start asking "Why? for everything. Yesterday she put two words together on her own "Mama, help!", which was great progress. I also noticed her trying to use her scissors to cut a nice chunk out of her hair, but luckily Eric stopped her in time!

Megan Ling started going to a preschool around the corner from home. It is a lovely, small and well-run place and the teachers are doing wonderful activities with the kids. They have a summer themed day program and she is going 1-2x a week and then 3x a week in September for 2 1/2 hours each day. She has gone twice already and absolutely loves it. Here she is on her first day. She is so excited about "skool".

We got a new kitchen table. We did not all fit at the old one. Its 54" round and we had a cabinet maker custom make the top-covered in wood laminate. It has a wooden pedestal and we were able to use our old chairs, saving significant cost. We love it. It feels so much better and now I can push in all the chairs!

Over the weekend we went to my step-brother, Billy's for his annual birthday celebration. I took this sneak photo of Mary Alice carrying Megan Ling. She NEVER lets me take her picture and either runs away or sticks out her tongue. It's blurry, but it's real.

Here are Billy & Janis with their new niece!

and our family....

Here she is modeling her new suit from our dear friends, Ken & Jen and kids....

And this last picture is of Matthew and two of his best friends having a water war in the baby pool. It was amazing to see how much fun they could have in a such a tiny pool. Matthew is having a great summer just playing around.
